Hello, I'm Gianluca Failla (he/him), a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist based in London.

I came to this work through a long-standing interest in sexuality, relationships and the ways our experiences shape how we connect with ourselves and with other people.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent nine years supporting people across sexual health, addiction and Chemsex recovery. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work today and have given me a deep appreciation of how complex and personal our relationships with sex, intimacy and ourselves can be.

My practice is inclusive of different sexualities, genders and relationship structures.

I believe sexual wellbeing is a human right and an important part of our overall wellbeing. Everyone deserves somewhere they can talk honestly about sex and relationships without embarrassment or judgement.

As a gay man, I also understand personally how our history, cultural messages and wider social expectations can influence the way we experience sexuality, relationships and ourselves. I bring that awareness into my work, creating space for all parts of you, including the parts that may feel difficult to talk about.

For me, therapy isn't only about resolving difficulties. It can also be an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with pleasure and confidence, and explore what meaningful intimacy and connection look like for you.

My role isn't to tell you what your relationship or sex life should look like. It's to work alongside you as we understand what's happening and explore what you would like to feel different.

My approach to therapy

Warm, collaborative and without judgement

I don't believe therapy should feel like somebody sitting opposite you, silently analysing everything you say.

My approach is collaborative.

We'll think together about what's happening, what may have contributed to it and what might help things begin to change.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may involve exploring past experiences and relationship patterns alongside practical strategies that you can use outside the therapy room.

When working with sexual difficulties, we may also explore how anxiety, your body, relationships, beliefs about sex, cultural expectations and previous experiences interact.

Most importantly, we'll work at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Passion

With a profound dedication to enhancing relationships, I specialise in psychosexual and couple therapy, guiding individuals and partners through intimacy and sexual health challenges. My approach empowers clients to foster deeper connections and address critical aspects of their relationships.

Growth

I have honed my expertise through years of training and personal exploration, focusing on effective communication and relational dynamics. This journey has equipped me to help others achieve their desired relationship satisfaction and intimacy.

Connection

Understanding the emotional and psychological factors that affect relationships is key. I emphasize trust, safety, and empathy in my practice, creating a space where clients can openly share their needs and experiences.

Clinical skills

I bring a grounded and adaptable clinical skill set. My training covers assessment, formulation, and treatment planning for a wide range of psychosexual and relational issues. I work confidently with individuals and couples, integrating clear ethical boundaries, collaborative goal-setting, and ongoing evaluation to ensure therapy is both safe and effective.

Therapeutic techniques

My approach draws from evidence-based and experiential methods, including psychodynamic exploration, cognitive-behavioural strategies, trauma-informed practice, and somatic awareness. I use a flexible blend of psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and relational techniques, tailoring each session to your needs and pace.

Human behavior

With a background in sexual health promotion, somatic practice, and chemsex support, I have extensive experience working with diverse sexualities, relationship styles, and cultural perspectives. I bring insight into the ways identity, social context, trauma, and personal history shape sexual behaviour and relational patterns. This understanding helps clients feel seen, respected, and supported in making meaningful change.

Comprehensive training

My professional development combines academic study, clinical placements, supervision, and personal therapy, providing a deep and integrated foundation for my work.  The training received so far, equipped me with in-depth study of anatomy, sexual function, relational theory, ethics, diversity, and specialist interventions for issues like sexual dysfunction, compulsive sexual behaviour, and the impact of trauma. This training is strengthened by years of practical experience in NHS and community settings.
